Zia connived with Shabnam's rapists. Khan embraces Zia's legacy
Many Facebook friends have posted the picture below: Imran shaking hands with Farooq Bandial. It is also claimed that Bandial has been awarded PTI ticket. I can not verify if that is true. However, it is a huge scandal that a person responsible for the gangrape of Lollywood star Shabnam is welcomed by IK in his party fold. The poor woman was gangraped in front of her family. It was the biggest crime scandal under the 'Islamist' Zia dictatorship. The rapists were sentenced to life time in prison though initially they were sentenced to death. After all, the rapists belonged to influential families. The crime created huge insecurity. Imagine this guy wins election? But before that, even by shaking his hand, IK has normalised, mainstreamed and dignified a rapist. Bandial belongs to Sargodha, my home town. This district still has strong remnants of feudalism. Some of bandial's cousins and distant relatives or other children of feudal families in my school/college would glorify his act. I will not be surprised if he wins elections in two months time. Politics is about responsibility, not electables. It is not merely PTI activists who bear the responsibility to oppose this handshake, everyone must protest against this most disgusting handshake.
And Shabnam Ji, indeed sorry. Islamic Republic fails you again. I did not even know the meaning of the word 'rape' when I started reading screaming headlines 'Shabnam Dacoity Case' as a Grade 2 student. Last time, the Zia dictatorship connived with the culprits. Today, his ideological remnants connive with your tormentors to molest you yet again.
